India commemorated the 75th anniversary of the end of British rule with great fanfare this month. But amidst the celebration, there is a growing sense that India is once again being enslaved by a handful of home-grown colonialists. The RSS and its swarms of pseudo-Hindus are intent on colonizing India’s social fabric. Modi ji, Amit Shah and their band of political thugs are attempting to colonize India’s politics. A select group of industrialists who suit the agendas of the RSS and Modi ji are colonizing India’s economic landscape. The yolk of this triple colonization is reducing the Indian people to destitution, destroying the Constitutional institutions meant to defend our freedom and pushing India into hopelessness.

These modern colonizers are getting away with their capture of India because they have weakened our capacity to recognize and respond to this attack on our freedom. They have weakened us by distracting Indians with meaningless agendas that have nothing to do with our welfare today or our prosperity tomorrow. They have sown seeds of division, distrust and hate and caused us to lose ourselves in infighting and keeping each other down. They have ruthlessly crushed anyone who dares raise a voice and spread a pall of fear and dread across the Nation.

If India is to regain its freedom, the first step must be for us to heal a wounded and divided nation. We must shed narrow, backward-looking agendas and commit ourselves once again to nation building. We must shed divisions and hate and join hands so we may be united and strong. We must rise up and tell those who seek to enslave us that we will not be afraid. We must rediscover our true selves and rise up as ‘ONE’.

It is with this historic goal that the Congress Party, under the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi is undertaking the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. This Yatra will reignite India’s imagination, awaken the potential of our people and shake the very foundations of the tyrants who have taken over.
