A Billion & One Voices

Billion and One Voices These short videos tell the everyday stories of Indians in their own voices. The series title is inspired by the idea that there are many ways of being an Indian. Our country is teeming with diverse languages, castes, communities and religions—the multiple voices that comprise both India today and the freedom movement that birthed the INC. Taken together, the films show that these are all aspects of being Indian and that the one inclusive, pan-Indian political unit is the INC. The series was conceptualized and directed by Tavishi Alagh for the 2014 General Elections. The production team travelled the length and breadth of the country, finding and sharing the myriad ways in which the Indian National Congress (INC) touches the lives of over a billion citizens.
