The State of Uttar Pradesh looks up with a lot of hope and expectations
The State of Uttar Pradesh looks up with a lot of hope and expectations to the Congress Party. Uttar Pradesh has witnessed the worst form of bad governance and disorder. The Congress Party has rightly coined the slogan
“27 Saal U.P- behaal” or 27 years of Misrule in UP. Actually, the slogan aptly captures and reflects the pitiable and abject conditions of people in Uttar Pradesh.
The people are suffering there due to rampant corruption, chronic crime, nepotism, favouritism, communalism and identity politics, violence against women, Dalits and most importantly, absence of development. In this atmosphere of deep pessimism and darkness, the Congress party has emerged as a beacon of hope for the people of Uttar Pradesh. Under the formidable and indomitable leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi, the party is potent to strike a chord with the rural and the urban masses.
The party’s election campaign, “27 Saal UP behaal” Yatra, flagged off by the Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi early this month, elicited massive response from the people in Uttar Pradesh.
People are readily reposing faith in the Congress party. The party’s rise in strength was visible in the mammoth gathering at the grand rally of Shri Rahul Gandhi, organized by the party in Lucknow. The Congress has formed a new team headed by state party President Shri Raj Babbar, Smt. Sheila Dikshit as its Chief Ministerial face and Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad as General Secretary Incharge. The choice of Smt. Sheila Dikshit as chief ministerial candidate for UP in highly suitable as she has a track record of sterling performance in Delhi as Chief Minister.
Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s rally in the Prime Minister’s turf, Varanasi, was a stupendous success. Thousands of people had gathered there she sounded the UP roll bugle in Banaras with huge show of strength. Her road show in Modi’s den was a mega success. This phenomenal response at the Congress rallies indicates that the revival of the Congress in UP assembly polls is inevitable. The Congress party appears to be the only glimmer of hope for the state suffering due to poor state of industries, dwindling agricultural sector, poor infrastructure, lawlessness, corruption and violence against Dalits, women and minorities.
