Congress will continue in its struggle for the emancipation of the Aam Aadmi

The Commitment of the Congress President and the strong beliefs of the Vice President Rahul Gandhi to provide succor to the problems of the Kissans who are suffering due to an unseasonal rains and the threat of the land acquisition bill in which their lands will be forcibly acquired by the Government to help its crony capitalists.

Rahul ji said, this seems to be a Government for the Industrialists who have blindly supported the BJP with unlimited resources, so that BJP could win the election. The policies of the Congress were always made keeping the aam aadmi as a benchmark. The Congress is determined to carry on working in the interest of the poorest of the poor. The policies of the Modi Government not only threaten the farmers but also the farm labour, the forest dwellers and the Adivasis. The Congress is determined not to allow the Modi Government to work against their interests. The Government which talked tall of a Congress Mukt Bahrat was shaken in its foundations to see the vast multitude of farmers from every nook and corner of the country that assembled at the call of the Congress. The Congress will never compromise on its principles towards the service to the poor and the downtrodden and will continue in its struggle for the emancipation of the aam aadmi whether in or out of power.

People have started seeing through the lies spread by the BJP and its leadership. In a letter to the Food & Public Distribution Minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan after visiting the affected areas of farmers by the unseasonal rains and hail storms the Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi urged the Government to relax the norms of moisture content while procurement of wheat by the Food Corporation of India is being done. She said that, extraordinary circumstances merit the suspension of the strict norms of the moisture content to provide relief to the farmers. This was the policy of UPA during its tenure. It cannot be except by a grand design that the attacks on Church’s increase every time there is a Government led by the BJP. Since it happens across the country it cannot be except under the directions of some interested ideologues opposed to minority communities. The Prime Minister always after the lapse of many such incidents issues a statement condemning them only to be followed up by more vicious attacks .

The Government does not seem to be concerned to either provide a secure cover or to arrest the vandals. These things do not behove the secular character of the country, to the constitution of which the Prime Minister has taken an oath to preserve. Like many loose cannons in the BJP Government the statements made by the NDA Minister Giriraj Singh surely mark the extent to which people with such thinking can sink. After making such reprehensible statement against the Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, due to the public outcry across party lines, the minister offered an apology. The concern is that after having done the damage whether an apology under pressure is enough to settle such issues.

It is not an isolated incident and abhorring statements keep on coming from BJP stalwarts. If the Prime Minister was really serious in stopping this, he would take a stern action and at least remove such a person from being a part of his cabinet to set and example. The raising of the Pakistani flags in a rally in Jammu and Kashmir led by recently released separatist leader Masarat Alam is totally an unacceptable phenomenon, specially while there is a PDP-BJP alliance in the state and a BJP led Government at the centre. The belligerence and lack of tolerance displayed by the BJP, when in opposition, is like every other thing in total contrast to the current position taken by them when in Government. In the greed of having its first Government in the state of J&K the BJP is willing to compromise the interest of the nation and allow the return of militancy in the state. There is no excuse for this and the Prime Minister Mr. Modi owes an explanation to the people of the country.

The nation remembers Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar under whose Chairmanship the Constitution of India was drafted. Babasaheb, as he was popularly known, was an undisputed leader of the Dalits and toiled hard for the upliftment of the Dalits & the Backwards. The Congress Party is engaged in celebrating his 125th Birth anniversary as a mark of respect to the great leader. The nation remembers with pride Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 107th Birth anniversary. Besides being one of the most popular leaders of the Dalits in India he was an extremely able administrator. He left his indelible mark in whichever Ministry he was asked to head. He was the Minister for Defence at the time when he oversaw the 1971 war which led to the liberation of Bangladesh. He was a staunch Congressman and had a long political career which spanned from 1936 till his passing away in 1984.
