Honouring the Public Mandate

Spokesperson: Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi: He said that we accept the results of the elections, whatever it may be because nothing is above the public mandate. They are our Gods and it is in the behavior of the Congress party.

We do not have any hesitation in saying that victory or loss is the part of the democratic process. What is most significant is the patience. It should not crumble. If you don’t have the patience it means you are going to be defeated. Defeat is sure if the patience is lost.

I want to tell you something in detail. The BJP had contested on 590 Assembly seats in 2014 and won only 104 seats. In 2016 it fought on 661 seats but could get success in only 64 places only. Similarly Congress party fought on only 749 seats but won 110 seats whereas in 2016 it fought on 344 seats but we got only 100 seats. Now you yourself decide which party is in a better position Congress or BJP.

BJP government has completed two years and its vote share in 2014 was 17% which has come down to 13% in 2016. It happened because the people of the country are knowing what Modi government has done during the last two years. The BJP has got finished in the elections held recently in Tamilnadu, West Bengal
and Puducherry. We are fully confident that in the elections to come, the Congress is going to romp home. Monday, 23rd May, 2016.
