Mahila Congress, November 2015
The All India Mahila Congress President Smt. Shobha Oza convened a meeting of newly constituted national executive of AIMC on 13th October 2015 at the AICC Conference Room.
She prisided a Seminar on Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in Bhopal on 15th October 2015 which was organized by Smt. Mandvi Chauhan, President, MP PMC. The Chief Guest of the Seminar was Shri Upendra Gupta, Chairperson of Vichar Prakoshtha of MP PCC.
Smt. Charulata Tokas, newly appointed President of Maharashtra PMC, took charge of the office on 24th October 2015. Smt. Shobha Oza addressed the audience on the occasion alongwith Shri Ashok Rao Chavan, President, Maharashtra PCC, Shri Manikrao Thakre, Smt. Varshatai Gaikwad, MLA, Ms. Netta D’Souza, Gen. Secy. AIMC & Incharge of Maharashtra PMC, Shri Narayan Rane, Smt. Kamaltai Vyavhare and many other leaders. About 1000 Mahila Congress functionaries attended the function.
On 31st October, the AIMC President went to drought affected areas of Osmanabad, Maharashtra where she met the families of poor farmers and distributed sarees and edibles amongst them. She was accompanied by Smt. Charulata Tokas, Smt. Sheetal Mahatre, Ms. Netta D’ Souza, Smt. Kamal Vyavhare, etc. Mahila Congress Smt. Sheetal Mahatre, President, Mumbai RMC organized a Press Conference for Smt. Shobha Oza, President, AIMC on 29th October in Mumbai in which Smt. Monica Dias, Gen. Secy. AIMC & Incharge Mumbai RMC was also present on the dias. In the Press Conference the AIMC President said that the policies of the Present Government was in clear deviation of the promises made on the Election Platform inter alia taking the Electorate for a ride, the bogey of bringing back Black Money stashed abroad and crediting 15 Lakhs in the account of Indians; curtailing prices of essential commodities, Security of Women etc. made by the BJP during elections.
On 30th October, Smt. Sheetal Mahatre, President, Mumbai RMC organized a Mahila Melawa to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Smt. Indira Gandhi and Jayanthi of Sardar Vallabhai Patelji coinciding with the 125th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Nehruji & Babasahebji Ambedkar.
The Melawa, which witnessed the presence of a large number of local leaders viz. Shri Gurdas Kamat, Shri Sanjay Nirupam, etc. was inaugurated by Smt. Shobha Oza. A crowd of more than 6000 was present in the Melawa.
To commemorate the Death Anniversary of our beloved Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, various programs of different kinds were organized by the Mahila Congress units at State/District/Taluka levels across the country on 31st October 2015. The members of the newly constituted National Executive have started touring the States under their respective charge.
Dr. Shobhna Shah, went to Uttar Pradesh & Gujarat; Ms. Nagma went to Chennai and Puducherry; Ms. Netta D’Souza to Maharashtra; Smt. Hazina Syed to Kerala, Lakshadeep and Telangana; Smt. Anjali Tapre to Chhattisgarh. On 23rd October, Smt. Sunkara Padmashree, President, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi when he was on a visit to Andhra Pradesh. Smt. Indu Pawar, President, Jammu & Kashmir, PMC staged a protest against un-provoked Border firing by Pakistan forces at Hiranagar, Samba and Jammu Border before United Nation’s Office at Sainik Colony, Jammu on 27th October 2015.
In Gujarat & Chhattisgarh, local body elections are going on and many office bearers of Mahila Congress are contesting elections. The All India Mahila Congress wishes them success.
