Ten years of MGNREGA 

lucknow: ‘MGNREGA’ law was passed to give employment guarantee to the lower class of people, the poor and the labourers. The UPA Government by giving guarantee of employment has made an example in the world. This project had also guaranteed the minimum wages for the labourers. There is a provision for this in the Budget. There is a guarantee of minimum of 100 days of work under this programme. AICC General Secretary and incharge of UP, Shri Madhusudan Mistry said here on 2nd February, 2016that ten years have passed since the programme was started and said that the monitoring of MGNREGA was the duty of all Congress workers, so that the poor can get the benefit out of it.

The ‘MGNREGA’ Conference was presided over by UPCC President Dr. Nirmal Khatri to celebrate the ten years of MGNREGA which was a dream welfare project of the Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi for the weaker sections. All the MGNREGA monitoring committee members from every district and former incharge and representatives participated in this conference. The conference was conducted by Pradesh Congress General Secretary Shri Onkar Nath Singh.

Dr. Nirmal Khatri said that the way so many representatives attached with MGNREGA have turned up showed how much love you all have for the project. He said the Modi government at the centre was trying to give a big blow and the Pradesh government of Shri Akhilesh was trying to damage this project from the start. 

Former Chairman of the MGNREGA monitoring committee Shri Sanjay Dikshit spoke about the benefits of this project and spoke about how the State government was trying to derail this programme.

Also present were AICC Secretary and co-incharge Shri Prakash Joshi, former Minister Shri Ramkrishna Dwivedi, former Minister Shri Satyadev Tripathi, former Minister Shri Rajbahadur, former MLC Shri Harish Bajpayee, Shri Ganesh Shankar Pandeya and Ms. Ansuiya Sharma with others.
