Two years of Modi government

Spokesperson: Shri Manish Tewari: He said that the Modi government is celebrating the completion of two years in a way as if he has completed two terms in office. Such attitude by the BJP is understandable because they have come into power after a long time and with much of difficulties.

BJP president Amit Shah is clamouring that no allegation of corruption against the BJP government so far. But we want to remind Shri Shah that a number of scandals took place right beneath Modi’s nose and before his eyes, but he took no action. The major scandals that rocked the country, include DDCA, GSPS, Chikki, Chhattisgarh PDS, Lalit Gate, Vijay Mallya’s absconding, Bank of Baroda Scandal and most of all the Vyapam, which has left 50 persons dead. These are the scandals which show Modi’s vision of ‘Bhrashtachar Mukt Bharat’ (Corruption Free India). During last two years this government did not even appoint a Lokpal otherwise many more cases would have erupted through RTI’s. 20 RTI activists have been killed during this regime. The rate of the industrial production has come down to 0.1% because works are not being done enough in the industrial and mining sector. It proves that ‘Make in India’ slogan has failed. The ‘so called tiger’ has forgotten to roar, it’s now a cat who is murmuring. Amit Shah has showered praises on Modi for his development works in agriculture sector. But the truth is farmers are committing suicide and its number is growing. It reflects that the government is least bothered for farmers, labourers and poor of the countryside.

The development rate in agriculture is at the lowest at a time when Modi government is celebrating his two years of governance. It shows in how pitiable situation the Anndata of the country is living. Modi had promised before the General Election that if the BJP was voted to power he would give 50% additional money on the minimum support price (MSP) fixed on the basis of investment in farming. The BJP turned around and refused to have made any such promise and said it cannot be given to the farmers. The lie was detected during a hearing of the PIL by the Supreme Court. Amit Shah claims that around 15 crore farmers of the country go for land’s quality test but the truth is: it was the Congress government which had started Soil Health Card Scheme in 2008-09 and issued about 5 crores cards by 2012. Before the BJP government came to power around 1411 soil testing centres had been opened in the country by March 31st 2014. This government had said the number of centres would increase but not a single centre has opened last two years. Modiji had promised to provide employment to two crores youths every year but only 1.34 lakh youths could get employment which is the lowest considering the past years records.

The Congress Party warns the Modi government to give up its habit of brand marketing and politics of Jumlebaji because it has only 3 years left to remain in power, so act in the best interest of the common masses. Friday, 27th May, 2016.
