Credit to RSS

Spokesperson: Shri Manish Tewari: He said why is the Defence Minister of India always so over the top? Today he has gone and credited the RSS for operations along the LoC. If I may quote what the Defence Minister of India has said “RSS ki shiksha mili hui thi, shayad isiliye yeh mumkin ho saka. May be the RSS teaching was the basic tool, ‘Main Goa se Raksha Mantri ke tor pe kuch nahin janta tha. PM and Mahatama Gandhi ki dharti se shayad yeh operation ki basic shiksha thi, nahin to surgical strike aur yeh equation kuch alag hota. Ahmedbad to koi nahi pooche ga ki proof dijiyega’. What is wrong with this gentleman?

And this is not the first time this has happened. Earlier, he says that ‘like Hanuman’ the Army did not know their prowess until I pointed out to them their strength and capacity. Such an action has never been done before and this is the first time, this is the first surgical strike by the Army. Nowhere in the world has such an operation being done with such degree of success. 30 Years of helplessness and frustration has been lifted by this action and people erupted in joy”. Then they blame others for politicizing the operations along the LoC. We would like to ask the BJP and Mr. Manohar Parrikar did Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri go to an RSS Shakha? Did Defence Minister Shri Yashwant Rao Chavan go to a RSS Shakha? Did Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi who created Bangaldesh, did she go to a Shakha? Did Defence Minister Shri JagjivanRam go to a Shakha? Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw or General J.S. Aurora - did they go to a Shakha?

What kind of a Defence Minister do we have and for all the chest thumping which the BJP has done, the strategic restraint of the UPA, which essentially meant that we did operations but kept our lips zipped, actually yielded results.

In Jammu & Kashmir alone, if you look at the figures, in the year 2004 when the UPA came into office, there were 2565 incidents of violence, 281 security personnel were killed, 707 civilians were killed and 976 terrorists were killed. By 2009, when the first term of the UPA ended, incidents were down to 499 - almost 1/5th, security personnel killed was down to 78, civilians down to 71 and terrorists to 239 because infiltration was stopped. In 2014 incidents were down to 222, forces killed was down to 47, civilians 28 and terrorists 110. Monday, October 17, 2016
