No Time for Condolence
Spokesperson: Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia: He said that primary issue today was the loss of lives during the train accident near Kanpur and through you the Congress Party wants to convey its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. In our country the life of every person is an asset and it becomes the duty of the government to give protection and it is very sad that 138 people lost their lives and more than 200 people were injured and our condolences are with them.
It is also shocking that our Prime Minister who had visited the same state where the accident took place and attended a rally at Agra but he did not find time to convey his condolences to the bereaved family members nor had time to visit the accident site. It has been seen that when the farmers were committing suicides, this government was busy rejoicing and no representative of the government had time to visit the bereaved family of the farmers.
The issue of safety of Rail facilities is also connected to it. We had time and again said that if there is a need to invest it was in upgrading the railway tracks, in safety measures, rolling stock but this government is far away from ground realities and is working in an imaginary direction and is showing the dream of Bullet Train to the people of India where Rs. one lakh crore will be invested and if the same amount was invested 21/2 years ago in upgradations of safety measure and railway tracks, maybe we could have saved many lives.
