Rajiv Gandhi Vidyutikaran Yojana

Spokesperson: Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi: He said that the realpoint is that this has become the defining characteristic of thisGovernment. This is a Government of Lies, Lies and NDA Modi ledGovernment. The two are synonyms in a thesaurus; you.

I am today dealing with yet another third, fourth, fifth and tenthexample of such hollow claims, exaggerated, rhetoric and falsityon the face of it - patently false - and this comes from the story of the LPG.

Respected PM on 15th of August 2015 from the ramparts of theRed Fort, to the whole Nation, announced with great fanfare that“I, me and mine NDA, under my Leadership, has saved the countryRs. 22,000 Crores”.What is the truth as against Rs. 22,000 Crore claimed, only Rs.2,000 Crore that is not my figure, it is CAG figure - now you cangive me a usual story that you go the PAC.

This is not the first time, it does not behove of a PM, it does notbehove of even a Cabinet Minister, it does not even behove of youand me. But the Prime Minister of this country repeatedly says this and gets away with it and we are here, as a responsible Opposition, tonail his lies - the lies of his Government, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhanand the Prime Minister. The PM has publically proclaimed this forthe LPG. The PM in his speeches, right through the campaign, but specifically in 2014-15 said 2.5 Crore jobs per year. The fact is 1.17lakh jobs in the first year 2014-15 and less than 90,000 jobs in the first half of 2015-16. He repeatedly talks of Jan-Dhan Yojana 60%accounts are empty, blank and Zero. Inside it is hollow.

The most tragic assertion, which really betrays the country’s faithis about electricity. It is a different matter, which we have talkedto you i.e. Rajiv Gandhi Vidyuti Karan Yojana completely started, conceived and endowed by the Government of India in the UPA time - Rs. 41,000 Crores allocated then and I repeat Rs. 41,000 Crore, now utilized 3% i.e. Rs. 1,100 Crores.

Today, 18,500 villages have Zero electricity. Obviously, those are households which are below the poverty line. The actual households which are BPL with Zero electricity is 1.8 Crore in the country.
