All this while, what has been doing rounds
in public domain is that fugitive Lalit Modi benefitted the Rajasthan Chief
Minister’s son Dushyant Raje, her son-in-law and daughter-in-law by buying
815 shares worth Rs10/- of their company
“Niyant Heritage Hotel Pvt Ltd” for a whopping Rs 96,190. However, what seems
to have been overlooked is that the beneficiaries of this windfall favor by Lalit
Modi was not only Smt. Raje’s kins, but she herself profited directly as a One
third owner of the company.
If one were to look at the election
affidavit filed by Smt. Vasundhara Raje in 2013, it becomes clear that she owns
3280 shares of Rs 10 each in Niyant Heritage Hotel Pvt Ltd. Once Lalit Modi
accomplished the blatant quid pro quo of surreptitiously benefitting Smt. Raje
of Rs 11.60 Cr by buying shares and giving unsecured loans in 2009, Smt Raje
conveniently acquired shares of the company after that.
Wasn’t this, prima facie an attempt at hood
winking so that direct collusion does not look apparent in future? However, Smt
Raje seems to have forgotten the dictum that sins of omission and commission do
not leave a person, especially if they have been committed with malafide and
It further establishes the ongoing saga of
criminal conspiracy, malafide malintent and blatantly crony qui pro quo. With
this direct client server relation in the open, what the Rajasthan CM have in
her defence now? Isteefa ab nahi to Kab?
