STATEMENT OF SHRI K. C. VENUGOPAL, GENERAL SECRETARY, AICC (In charge of Organization)
The Election Commission has turned out to be an agency to make Prime Minister Modi’s election campaign more feasible and easy, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Organisation, K.C.Venugopal M.P said in his statement. In West Bengal, when the Election Commission banned campaigning from 10 pm on Thursday invoking Article 324 the, commission made sure that the election rallies of Prime Minister would happen as planned. The commission has banned campaigning from Thursday night only because the Prime Minister had to complete two rallies in the day. The order was aimed only to give a free pass to the rallies of Prime Minister. The election commission has been showing partiality and favoritism ever from the declaration of election schedules in the country. The commission has not taken any actions against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and other BJP leaders even after receiving complaints for violating the model code of conduct issued by the commission itself. At the same time the Commission is eager to take disciplinary actions and send notices on any complaints received against opposition party leaders. The Model Code of Conduct has turned to be Modi Code of Conduct. Such a partial and discriminative Election Commission is not good for a healthy and prosperous democratic culture K.C.Venugopal pointed out in his statement.
